Job Description - Associate Director, Communications

Wachsman is a global communications and strategy consultancy advising founders, executives and organisations operating at the forefront of emerging and transformative technologies.

Built for the digital and decentralised age, we deliver integrated advisory services spanning strategic communications, PR and media relations, reputation and issues management, investor relations, and policy communications. We help our clients establish, protect and advance their industry position as they navigate complex change, heightened scrutiny and rapid growth.

Founded in 2015, with regional headquarters in New York, Dublin and Singapore, Wachsman is a trusted partner to many of the world’s most innovative companies. We support high-growth organisations at critical inflection points, including market entry, fundraising, commercial partnerships, product launches, M&A, corporate repositioning, regulatory engagement and crisis situations.

Born in the blockchain industry, Wachsman has evolved into a strategic partner across a wide range of sectors, including fintech, payments and financial services, data and infrastructure, energy and climate tech, gaming and e-sports, arts and entertainment, social platforms, real estate, legal services and healthcare.

As Wachsman continues to grow, we are seeking an ambitious and highly skilled strategic communications professional to join our London team as an Associate Director. • Representing Wachsman in senior client meetings and new business discussions.
  • Designing and delivering internal training sessions and external client workshops, including messaging, narrative development and media training.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members, fostering ambition, confidence and professional growth.
  • Empowering account teams to deliver at pace while maintaining exceptional standards of work and client experience.
  • Supporting the Directors and EMEA leadership team in the ongoing growth and development of the business.

Skills & Requirements:

  • 7–9 years’ recent experience in a PR or communications agency environment, with a strong focus on media relations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and identify opportunities that drive client impact.
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape and how to secure meaningful coverage.
  • Ability to distil complex or technical topics into clear, engaging narratives.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and consistently strong standards of delivery.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with fintech, financial services or adjacent technology sectors.
  • Crisis communications experience.
  • Experience facilitating senior-level workshops or training sessions.
