Job Description - Associate Director (Electrical)

We are supporting a client in their search for an experienced professional to join their team in Cambridge as an Associate Director (Electrical). This senior -level opportunity is ideal for a professional who brings strong technical capability, commercial insight, and proven experience in leading clients and delivering complex building projects.

You will lead the delivery of high -profile projects across sectors such as science & research, healthcare, and other technically demanding environments. The position offers significant autonomy and influence, giving you the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the office.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of large, multi -disciplinary projects, acting as the main point of contact for clients

  • Support business development efforts, including bid preparation and securing new work

  • Provide leadership within the electrical engineering discipline, ensuring high technical standards are maintained

  • Manage project financials, including profitability, performance tracking, and resource allocation

  • Represent the business in senior -level client engagements and industry forums

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high -performing engineering team

  • Mentor team members and contribute to long -term succession planning

  • Report on project pipeline, resource utilisation, and financial performance to senior leadership

About You

  • Chartered Engineer with substantial experience at Principal level or above

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams

  • Strong commercial understanding with experience managing complex project portfolios

  • Calm and solutions -driven approach when handling challenges

  • In -depth knowledge of electrical engineering, with awareness of related disciplines

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships and drive business growth
