Cambridge | £62,000–£79,000 plus bonus

A national property consultancy is recruiting a Associate Director – Planning for its Cambridge office. Planning sits alongside a wider range of property services, giving the successful candidate access to clients and projects from across the development lifecycle.

The appointment has been created to add capability rather than simply replace a departing employee. You will be given a live workload, sensible support and the freedom to build trusted client relationships.

Day-to-day

Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.

Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.

Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.

Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.

Review work produced by junior colleagues and support their development.

Contribute to fee proposals, client development and the commercial management of projects.

About you

Mrtpi; major application experience; strong network and commercial project leadership. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

Package and working arrangements

The salary is £62,000–£79,000 plus bonus. The wider package includes bonus, healthcare, pension, flexible working and Director-level progression. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
