Associate Director - Quantity Surveyor

Built Alliance are once again delighted to be partnering with one of Sheffield's most ambitious and fast-growing consultancies, who are now looking to make a particular strategic hire.

We're eager to speak with Senior to Associate level Quantity Surveyors who likes the sound of a clear, structured pathway to becoming Office Lead.

The team in Sheffield is already brilliant and productive, and with promotions currently taking shape at board level, there's a real opportunity for the right person to step in and grow into an integral leadership role.

The team is predominantly made up of building surveyors, so you'd be one of their first hires from a QS discipline, giving you a genuinely unique position within the business from day one.

Off the back of a strong start to 2026, they've got some brilliant projects coming through, including a multi-million-pound new build zoo facility, a major town regeneration scheme, and several education academies, alongside plenty more to keep things varied and interesting.

Given the scale and complexity of this work, they need someone with strong cost management skills who can take ownership of the full pre- and post-contract QS function, from cost planning and procurement through to valuations, change control and final accounts.

Business development ability is always a nice-to-have at this level but it won't be a pressing requirement here. There's enough work already secured to give you the time and space to properly establish yourself before BD becomes part of the role.

Roles that come with a genuine, structured plan toward becoming Office Lead don't come around often but we're delighted to share this is very much one of them.
