Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading national planning consultancy in the appointment of an experienced Associate Director - Town Planning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Director to join a successful and growing consultancy with a national reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice across sectors including residential, mixed-use, logistics, infrastructure, and commercial developments.

As an Associate Director you'll play a vital role in leading projects, developing client relationships, and mentoring junior planners. You will contribute to business growth, manage complex planning applications, and support strategic planning work such as Local Plan representations and appeals.

The consultancy is known for its collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach, and is looking for a commercially focused Associate Director who can bring energy, experience, and leadership to the team.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead a variety of planning projects from inception to completion
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Support junior team members and promote career development
• Contribute to business planning and tender submissions
• Represent clients at Local Plan Examinations and appeals

Requirements:

• MRTPI qualification
• Strong background in consultancy or private sector planning
• Experience in delivering large-scale projects and managing teams
• Excellent communication and business development skills
