Job Description - Associate Environment Artist

The Studio:

We are a video game development studio with offices in Guildford, UK and Utrecht, Netherlands. Sitting within the heart of thriving communities of game developers and publishers, we focus on quality and excellence, and our partners and players are always at the front of everything we do.

Games are not just about gameplay. We believe in the importance of balancing every single aspect of a game that you, as a player will interact with; what you see, how you play and how it makes you feel.

It couldn’t be a more exciting time to join us as we embark on a new unannounced project, pushing the boundaries of all aspects of the game to create a truly AAA experience.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for an Associate Environment Artist to join us. You'll work alongside experienced artists to craft the spaces, structures, and details that make our game worlds feel alive and believable. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to grow within a collaborative, craft-focused studio environment.

We’re looking for someone with experience working in a fast paced, AAA environment to join us. As our Associate Environment Artist, you will:

  • Design and create high quality environment assets and props

  • Collaborate with Senior Artists, Designers, and Tech Artists to work towards creative objectives

  • Contribute fresh ideas to the development of our workflows, processes and tools

  • Using Art Direction Briefs, Concept Imagery and Reference images, generate world art content and dress environments to create visually impressive worlds that players will have the best experience within

  • Be an active participant in team meetings, regularly flagging anything that could impact the pipeline or the player experience

  • Be a team player, show enthusiasm capable of working effectively across different disciplines and the levels of experience within the team

Requirements

What we’re looking to see on your CV and portfolio and when we speak with you:

  • A strong creative eye and a flair for creating immersive gameplay experiences through visually amazing environments, terrains and assets

  • A portfolio of 3D work that shows off your skills and passion for the craft, demonstrating your ability to take ideas from concept to completion. A mixture of personal and professional work is encouraged

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills - we’re looking for someone who can work with different departments and take direction from their Leads

  • Sound knowledge of applications such as Maya, Blender, Photoshop, Substance Designer/Painter and Zbrush

  • Knowledge of what games are great right now, especially in terms of environment art, what ones you love to play and why

Bonus points for:

  • Having previous work experience in games

  • Familiarity with Gaea or SpeedTree

  • Unreal Engine experience

  • Participation in Hackathons or Game Jams

Some things to note before applying

  • We're not able to offer visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this role, so you'll need to already be based in the UK with the right to work here.

  • This is an on-site role at our Guildford studio, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

  • Start date: July - September 2026

  • Application deadline: Wednesday 24th June 2026 at 12:00 BST. You will hear back on your application after this closing date.

Benefits

What you can expect from us:

  • Flexible hybrid working (we work 3 days per week on-site)

  • Holiday Accrual Scheme

  • International AAA game projects;

  • Access to cutting-edge hardware;

  • Discretionary bonus scheme

  • Private Healthcare Plan incl. Dental and Eye care

  • Pension Plan
