Associate Planner / Associate Planning Director

The Opportunity

An established and highly respected multidisciplinary property and planning consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate or Associate Director -level Chartered Planner to join its growing Cornwall -based team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded planning professional to take a senior role within a well -established practice known for delivering high -quality advice across planning, architecture, and development consultancy.

You will play a key role in leading projects, developing client relationships, mentoring junior staff and contributing to the strategic growth of the planning function.

About the Role

You will work across a diverse portfolio of projects including:

• Residential developments (from small sites to larger strategic schemes)
  

• Mixed -use and regeneration projects
  

• Commercial and employment developments
  

• Rural and land promotion schemes
  

• Planning appeals and Local Plan representations
  

The role offers genuine autonomy, client exposure and the ability to shape both projects and the wider direction of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex planning applications and appeals
  

• Provide strategic planning advice to a varied client base
  

• Build and maintain strong client relationships
  

• Prepare high -quality planning statements, appraisals and representations
  

• Support business development and identify new opportunities
  

• Mentor and develop junior members of the planning team
  

About You

• MRTPI Chartered (essential)
  

• Significant private sector consultancy experience
  

• Strong understanding of the Welsh planning system
  

• Proven track record of delivering successful planning outcomes
  

• Commercially aware with the ability to generate and retain client relationships
  

• Confident communicator with strong report writing skills
  

• Ambitious and motivated to contribute at a senior level
  

This role would suit someone currently operating at Associate level and ready to step up, or an existing Associate Director seeking a platform to grow within a collaborative, forward -thinking consultancy.
