Job Description - Associate Planner Cambridge

Strategic Residential Leadership & Innovation -Led
Development

£56,000 – £75,000

FutureGen Recruitment is representing a leading planning
consultancy seeking an MRTPI Associate Planner to take a senior role within its
Cambridge operation.

This is a pivotal appointment within a team advising on
strategic housing delivery, mixed -use development and innovation -led schemes
linked to Cambridge’s continued growth. The successful candidate will take
responsibility for project delivery, client management and mentoring junior
staff, while supporting the wider business development strategy.

The Role

As an Associate Planner, you will operate as a senior
project lead with both technical and leadership responsibility.

Key duties include:

  • Leading
    major residential planning applications and strategic housing projects
  • Managing
    client relationships and ensuring repeat instructions
  • Overseeing
    Local Plan promotion strategies and examination preparation
  • Supporting
    and leading appeal submissions and inquiry teams
  • Advising
    on mixed -use schemes and innovation campus development
  • Mentoring
    junior planners and supporting professional development
  • Managing
    project budgets, timelines and consultant coordination
  • Supporting
    fee proposals, tenders and business development initiatives

About You

  • MRTPI
    qualified (essential)
  • Strong
    consultancy or developer -side planning experience
  • Proven
    ability to lead complex projects independently
  • Strong
    client management and stakeholder negotiation skills
  • Commercial
    awareness and interest in business development
  • Experience
    mentoring junior staff and supporting team performance
