Role Description


We are seeking an experienced Associate Project Manager to join our team, focusing on Higher Education clients across the UK, with a particular emphasis on construction, capital projects, refurbishment, fit-out, infrastructure, and estate development programmes.


This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in construction project management who is confident delivering projects from early planning and procurement through to site delivery, handover, and close out. Experience working in complex stakeholder environments, ideally within the Higher Education sector, is essential.


The role involves managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, with a focus on service delivery, client relationship management, account leadership, and bid support. The successful candidate will be confident in direct client engagement, commercially aware, and capable of managing time, cost, quality, and risk to meet deadlines and maintain profitability.


Role Accountabilities



  • Lead construction and capital projects for Higher Education clients from planning through to handover

  • Manage budgets, programme, risk, governance, and contract compliance

  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors

  • Build strong client relationships and support account growth

  • Contribute to bid writing, tenders, and proposal development

  • Drive high-quality, efficient, and commercially successful delivery


Qualifications & Experience



  • Proven Project Manager experience in construction or the built environment

  • Experience delivering capital projects, refurbishment, fit-out, or infrastructure schemes

  • Higher Education project experience strongly preferred

  • Strong client management, commercial, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Experience managing complex projects in live environments

  • Bid writing or account management experience desirable

  • Laboratory or specialist technical building experience advantageous


Candidates must demonstrate professional project management experience and have ideally supported higher education sector clients.
