I am working with a leading legal team seeking an accomplished Associate or Senior Associate to join their busy Crime & Regulatory team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside respected partners on complex and varied matters for a client base including insurers, regulated professionals, SMEs, and public sector organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a busy caseload of contentious and non-contentious crime and regulatory matters, including professional discipline, police disciplinary investigations, health & safety, environmental and licensing issues, Ofsted and CQC enforcement, business crime, and inquests/public inquiries
Provide high-quality legal advice and representation for both insured and uninsured clients
Develop and maintain strong client relationships internally and externally
Demonstrate an understanding of legal expense and liability insurance matters
Supervise junior lawyers and delegate tasks appropriately
Deliver on billing targets and other key performance indicators
What I'm Looking For:
3-7 years PQE in crime and regulatory law or related fields
Strong technical expertise across one or more of the core practice areas listed above
Experience handling sensitive and complex cases with excellent client care skills
Ability to work independently, managing multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
Previous experience with legal expense insurance or insurance law is highly desirable
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
A collaborative team player with a positive and proactive attitude
About the Team: You will join a close-knit team of seven lawyers, two paralegals, a trainee solicitor, and dedicated support staff. The team works across a broad spectrum of regulatory and crime-related disputes, primarily for insurance clients, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and legal outcomes.
