A respected property and planning business is strengthening its planning capability in Wimborne. Its work is rooted in long-term relationships with landowners, estates, developers and private clients.

The opportunity

The team’s workload includes rural estates, agricultural development, housing, commercial property and diversification. The central purpose of the position is to become a senior planning adviser to landowners and property clients across Dorset and neighbouring counties.

Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.

Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.

Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.

Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.

Review work produced by junior colleagues and support their development.

Contribute to fee proposals, client development and the commercial management of projects.

About you

Mrtpi; broad planning experience; rural knowledge useful but not essential; strong client manner. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

Package and working arrangements

The salary is £48,000–£60,000 plus benefits. The wider package includes flexible hybrid working, pension, bonus, healthcare and paid fees. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
