Associate Urban Designer

Konker Group is recruiting for a Principal or Associate-level Urban Designer to join a well-established design and planning consultancy in Cardiff.

This is a brand-new role, created in response to significant new project wins.

The Urban Designer role is ideal for a senior urbanist who is confident leading projects, guiding teams, and working directly with clients.

They employ around 25 people, split between two studios, and offers a strong platform for leadership and career development.

What You'll Be Doing: Principal or Associate-level Urban Designer

• Leading urban design and placemaking projects at a strategic level
• Developing proposals, frameworks, and masterplans
• Managing teams and mentoring junior designers
• Attending client meetings and representing the business professionally

Location: Cardiff
Salary: £42,000 – £48,000

What We’re Looking For: Principal or Associate-level Urban Designer

• Demonstrated ability to lead urban design projects
• Comfortable in a client-facing, strategic role
• Skilled in communicating design ideas through visuals, presentations, and reports
• Passion for creating places with social, environmental, and design value
