Role purpose:
Atrial fibrillation (AFIB) is a quivering or irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. 20 million people around the world suffer from AFIB each year.
Biosense Webster, Inc. is the global leader in the science of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. The company established its leadership in electrophysiology with the development of the first real-time, 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, as well as the first electrophysiology catheter.
The introduction of the company’s CARTO® 3 System in 2009 revolutionized 3D mapping technology by growing the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the cardiac ablation procedure.
As an Associate Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our systems in installation, service and repair. The interaction with customers in person or over the phone, handling their technical inquires and complaints is key to building a lasting customer relationship. You will coordinate yourself independently to keep your Area on track.
Under (e.g. limited supervision, general direction, etc.) and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, the key responsibilities are:
Support of highly advanced medical equipment to build 3D-Maps to accurately visualize the anatomy of the human heart, identify the root cause and treat them in one intervention
Lead schedule and perform the installation, upgrades and repair of equipment within your area
Evaluate, diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment in response to service calls in your territory, schedule to facilitate all aspects of technical/engineering work required to support all products supported
Drive Customer Satisfaction improvement in assigned territory through Monthly review of complaints / Parts Usage / system performance. Analyze data, identify issues and put in corrective actions and improvements plans
Handle customer expectations on a regular basis before and after various interactions to ensure customer happiness
Complete, clear and timely update in the Service Management System related to Work Orders
Maintain composure and problem-solving focus during stressful interactions
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to the next management level
Follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices
Education:
Experience in the Medical Device Industry is preferred
Associate degree with 2 years’ service Medical related experience; OR
Highly preferred bachelor’s degree in Biomedical / (Electronics) Electrical / Computer Engineering field
Knowledge of servicing principles, practices and procedures preferred
Required:
Organization skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Problem solving skills
operation of standard test equipment e.g. digital multimeter / safety tester
Ability to travel short notice
Air travel upon request to EMEA region
Ability to work weekends and “off hours” as needed to support customer and business needs
Heavy lifting of equipment and excessive standing, lifting and bending will be required.
Always respect and apply safety rules and procedures
English verbal and written communication skills
Office/Field time 25%/75%
