Automotive Audio Quality Engineer

EES Solutions Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

In this specific contract position, you'll be working hand-in-hand with our dedicated automotive clientele. Due to the nature of the role, we will only be able to consider candidates with direct Automotive work experience. We are only able to consider candidates on an inside IR35 basis.

What You'll Do:
Working as a consultant, you will support our Customer’s existing engineering quality resource, you will be responsible for driving an increased throughput of automotive projects through to robust resolution.

We are actively seeking experienced Automotive Project Engineers in the following disciplines:
Audio Quality Engineering
This project will be progressed using defined problem-solving methodology, predominantly 8D process, from problem definition through to engineering release.

Responsibilities:
The Audio Quality Engineer will take ownership of audio-related quality issues escalated to engineering across customer and fleet vehicles. You will lead problem definition activities for audio quality issues, conduct data-gathering activities, build a detailed understanding of the full audio system functionality, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to efficiently manage issues from start to finish.
Specific duties include:
Leading and conducting data-gathering activities to define and eliminate possible root causes.
Building detailed understanding of audio systems at hardware and software levels.
Reporting transparently on quality issue status.
Leading target-driven cost/warranty reduction initiatives.
Recommending improvements to engineering standards for audio

components/systems.
Creating and maintaining service-related documentation.

Who We Are Looking For:
Proven problem-solving and fault-finding ability in electro-acoustic systems.
Technical knowledge related to audio

electronic/acoustic

components and system design.
Experience with vehicle networks & communication such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, A2B.
Automotive fault-finding and diagnostics experience (e.g., OBD-II, DoIP).
Experience developing technical requirements, specifications, and test plans.
Ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all business levels.
Degree in

Electrical/Electronic

Engineering, Acoustics, Music Technology, or equivalent experience.

It Would Be An Asset If You Also Have Experience in:
Six Sigma, 8D, 5-whys, FMEA, DFMEA processes.
Expertise in automotive audio hardware, software, and network design.
Critical listening skills and ability to assess audio performance.
Certification in a formal problem-solving methodology.
Knowledge of CAD tools such as Catia V5/V6 (for specific roles) plus vis-mockup/digibuck.
Agile delivery process experience, including Scrum approach and Jira toolset.
Requirements capture/updates, DVP & component testing.
Passion for music and audio technology.
