BlackSquare is recruiting a qualified Audiologist or Hearing Aid Dispenser for a well-established independent optical and hearing care group operating across Hampshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HCPC-registered hearing care professional who enjoys building long-term patient relationships and is comfortable working across several modern community practices.
You will have the autonomy to deliver high-quality, personalised hearing care while benefiting from the support, resources and development opportunities of an established independent business.
You will provide comprehensive, patient-centred audiology services across a network of Hampshire practices.
The role covers the full hearing-care journey, from initial assessment and hearing-aid fitting through to ongoing aftercare and long-term patient support.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive hearing assessments
Discussing assessment results clearly and sensitively with patients
Recommending personalised hearing solutions based on individual needs
Fitting, programming and verifying hearing aids
Providing hearing-aid demonstrations and patient education
Delivering ongoing aftercare and follow-up support
Carrying out tympanometry confidently
Providing microsuction ear-wax removal where appropriately trained
Building trusted, long-term relationships with patients
Maintaining accurate and detailed clinical records
Travelling between practices across Hampshire
Working collaboratively with optical, hearing care and support colleagues
Contributing ideas to improve services, systems and the patient experience
Maintaining current knowledge of clinical techniques and hearing-care products
Attending relevant training, seminars and professional events
Completing the CPD required to maintain professional registration
You will need:
Current HCPC registration as a Hearing Aid Dispenser
A BSc in Audiology, Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology or equivalent recognised qualification
A full UK driving licence
Access to a reliable vehicle
The ability and willingness to travel between practices across Hampshire
Strong clinical and patient-care skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
A professional, empathetic and patient-centred approach
Good organisational and time-management skills
Confidence using standard IT systems
The ability to work independently while remaining part of a wider clinical team
An adaptable and proactive approach to an evolving role
A commitment to continued learning and professional development
Experience in tympanometry and microsuction would be beneficial, although additional training may be available.
Salary of £45,000–£50,000 depending on experience
