Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager - Top 40

Butler Rose is working in partnership with a highly respected firm of Chartered Accountants in North Bedfordshire to recruit an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with strong audit and accounts experience to take the next step in their career. Reporting to the Partner, you'll manage a portfolio of clients while supporting and developing a growing team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a varied client portfolio, ensuring timely delivery of financial statements and tax returns
• Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and charities
• Leading audits from planning through to Partner sign-off, reviewing work and advising clients on internal controls
• Reviewing and supporting junior staff, allocating work and monitoring performance
• Assisting with complex VAT, tax returns, and tax planning tasks
• Developing client relationships and attending meetings to provide expert guidance

About you:

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Experienced in general practice, with a strong focus on both audit and accounts
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Able to manage your own workload and lead a team effectively
• Strong IT skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to travel to client sites when needed
