Audit / Accounts Semi-Senior
Are you working in accountancy practice but looking for a firm that genuinely respects your work-life balance?
We are partnering with a fantastic, independent accountancy firm based in Hoddesdon that is anything but stuffy. They are a fun, fair, and hardworking team looking for someone to join their growing audit and accounts department.
Whether you are AAT Level 3 or 4 qualified, mid-way through your ACA/ACCA, or looking to progress onto your professional qualifications soon, what matters most to them is finding the right fit for their close-knit team. If you want to progress your career and studies with a high-quality firm, without sacrificing your personal life, this is the perfect place to do it.
What the Role Involves:
You will enjoy a varied mix of work, splitting your time between audit delivery and accounts preparation.
* Audit (60% - 70%): You’ll be a key part of the audit team, working with a diverse portfolio of clients. This includes some travel to client sites, which are mainly local around Hertfordshire (like St Albans) with a few based in London. (Don't worry - all travel and work-related expenses are fully covered!)
* Accounts Preparation (30% - 40%): Back in the office, you’ll handle accounts preparation and financial reporting, keeping your technical accounting skills sharp and well-rounded.
What We Are Looking For:
* Qualifications: Ideally, you will be AAT Level 3 or 4 qualified or already studying towards your ACA / ACCA.
* Practice Experience: Ideally, you will have 3+ years of experience working within an accountancy practice.
* Audit Exposure: Strong audit experience is highly desirable. However, if your accounts knowledge is excellent and you've worked in practice with only a little audit exposure, they are still very keen to chat with you!
* Technical Skills: A solid understanding and practical experience with double-entry bookkeeping is essential.
* Mindset: You’re hardworking, ambitious, and keen to progress your career, but you also value a friendly, supportive team environment.
The Perks & Benefits:
* Full Study support available for professional qualifications
* 20 days holiday increasing annually up to 25 days
* Christmas Shutdown
* Company events
* All client travel and work-related expenses covered.
* Free on-site parking
