Audit & Accounts Senior

Sheridan Maine is looking for a skilled Audit and Accounts Senior to join a respected and growing accountancy firm in Essex. This role provides a balance of audit and accounts work, ideal for someone seeking variety and client-facing responsibility within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities.

• Plan, lead and complete audit assignments for a diverse client portfolio.
• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Draft corporation tax computations and liaise with HMRC where needed.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering clear advice and support.
• Review work prepared by junior staff and assist in their development.
• Ensure compliance with current accounting and auditing standards.
• Report directly to managers and partners with progress updates and findings.

What we’re looking for.

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist with strong practice experience.
• Solid background in both audit and accounts.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and technical knowledge.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software.
• Team player with a proactive and client-focused attitude.
