Job Description - Audit Manager

About:

A leading independent accountancy practice based in Preston, Lancashire, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality audit, accounting, and advisory services to a broad range of clients. This firm prides itself on professional integrity, client focus, and a supportive team culture.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a qualified and experienced Audit Manager to join a dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to take the next step in their career and play a key role in managing and developing our audit department.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of audit clients across a variety of sectors, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and charities.
Plan, lead, and finalise audit engagements from start to finish as Audit Manager.
Review and supervise the work of junior team members, providing support, coaching, and development.
Build strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact and providing insightful, practical advice.
Ensure audits are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest quality and compliance standards.
Contribute to the development and improvement of internal audit processes and systems.

About You:

ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with several years’ post-qualification experience in audit within a UK practice environment.
Proven experience in managing audit assignments, acting as Audit Manager and leading a team.
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and auditing standards.
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
A proactive and collaborative approach with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
