About the team
The International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM) (UK) 1 requires audit firms to design and implement a risk assessment process, which establishes quality objectives, identifies and assesses quality risks, and designs and implements responses to address those risks.
To align with the requirements of ISQM (UK) 1, we are continuing to invest resources in the System of Quality Management (SoQM) team. The SoQM team sits within our Audit Quality Support Team (AQST) and have collective responsibility for the operational aspect of SoQM such as maintaining process narrative, liasing with Group, ensuring that any changes from assessment of risks, monitoring and remediation are reflected in the narratives and testing the operating effectiveness of the SoQM and report regularly to those charged with operational responsibility for the SoQM.
About the role
Supporting the SoQM team with project managing the firm's SoQM
Performing walkthoughs of processes documented under ISQM (UK) 1
Testing the operating effectiveness of the system of SoQM and assessing the effectiveness of the remediation
Carrying out Root Cause Analysis on findings from testing
Assist the SoQM directors with reporting progress updates to the Audit Executive and other stakeholders
Liaising with external stakeholders when required on SoQM related matters
What are we looking for?
ACA / CA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
A basic understanding of the requirements of ISQM (UK) 1 and its objectives is desirable
Experience in ISQM (UK) 1 would be advantageous
Ability and willingness to challenge and influence more senior individuals and peers
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple work commitments, and to meet targets and deadlines.
Comfortable managing complex projects, and not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
