We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established accountancy practice in Hitchin for an Audit Senior / Audit Semi Senior to join their growing audit team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with recent practice experience who is confident managing audit assignments from planning through to completion. The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors while developing their technical and professional skills within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning through to completion. Prepare audit files and working papers to a high professional standard. Identify audit risks and communicate findings to managers. Liaise directly with clients throughout the audit process. Review financial statements and supporting documentation. Assist with statutory accounts preparation where required. Ensure all work is completed within agreed deadlines. Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate. Maintain compliance with UK accounting and auditing standards. Candidate Requirements
Essential
Part-qualified ACA or ACCA (or equivalent). Recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice. Experience handling audit assignments from planning through to completion with minimal supervision. Good understanding of UK auditing standards. Strong communication and client relationship skills. Excellent organisational and time management abilities. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Desirable
Experience gained within a medium-sized accountancy practice. Accounts preparation experience. Experience supervising junior staff. Knowledge of audit software such as CCH, CaseWare, IRIS, or similar. What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can make an immediate impact within the audit team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically competent, and confident managing audit files independently while building strong relationships with clients.
Salary & Benefits
