Job Description - Audit Senior Manager

Audit Manager –Edinburgh

Role Overview This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality audit engagements for a diverse client base, including large and listed entities with international operations. It involves a combination of technical excellence, people leadership, and commercial contribution. The role suits experienced auditors who are confident in managing teams, liaising with senior stakeholders, and contributing to wider business initiatives such as growth and quality improvement. It also offers scope for professional development, mentoring others, and playing an active role in shaping audit strategy and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as audit lead on engagements, including responsibility for audit planning, execution, and delivery.
  • On large assignments, manage audit delivery in collaboration with one or more supporting Managers, with overall accountability held by the Partner.
  • Manage team performance, including resource allocation, performance reviews, training support, and promotion recommendations.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to junior team members to support their development and growth.
  • Oversee client portfolios to maximise engagement profitability while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.
  • Liaise with internal teams such as risk management and technical support on complex or sensitive matters.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, relationship-building, and winning new audit work.
  • Work closely with Partners on the communication and implementation of strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
Technical Requirements
  • ACA / ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (e.g., CTS).
  • Extensive experience delivering audit and assurance services to large, complex businesses, including listed (main market and AIM) clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, UK and international GAAS, and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex audit engagements and build relationships at senior client levels.
  • Evidence of developing or maintaining a relevant industry network.
