Are you a passionate and experienced teacher with a strong understanding of autism? We are recruiting for a rewarding opportunity within a highly supportive primary school in Essex, working in a well-established Autism Support Centre (ASC).
We are working with a primary school in Basildon which has an established Autism Support Centre providing enhanced provision for up to 8 pupils at any one time within a mainstream setting. Staff within the centre collaborate closely to ensure consistency, regulation and clear routines for pupils throughout the day.
The successful candidate will be a confident and adaptable teacher with a strong understanding of autism and how pupils learn best within a mainstream environment. They will be comfortable working with a small group of pupils, tailoring provision to individual needs while supporting planned transitions into mainstream classes. A collaborative approach is essential, as the role involves daily communication with teaching staff, support staff and external professionals. The ideal teacher will bring calm leadership, clear structure and a child‑centred approach to their practice.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience working with pupils with autism / SEN
* Strong behaviour management and understanding of regulation strategies
* Confidence working within a small, structured provision
* A collaborative and flexible approach
