Automation Engineer - SASE

12-Month Contract

Outside IR35 £500-£525 per day

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a long-term programme focused on automating and improving enterprise SASE and network security environments.

This is a 12-month, fully remote contract offering £500-£525 per day Outside IR35.

The ideal candidate will come from a strong network security / SASE background and have hands-on experience building automation around security platforms, infrastructure and APIs.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop automation solutions across enterprise SASE and network security environments
Automate configuration, deployment and operational processes using Python
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Develop integrations using REST APIs
Automate security and networking workflows across cloud and SASE platforms
Work closely with network, security and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation
Improve repeatability, scalability and reliability across security infrastructure
Support automated provisioning, configuration management and platform integrations
Troubleshoot automation scripts, API integrations and infrastructure deployments

Key Skills

Strong hands-on Python development and scripting experience
Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
Experience building and integrating REST APIs
Strong background within SASE, network security or secure networking
Experience automating enterprise networking or cybersecurity environments
Good understanding of networking concepts including routing, firewalls, VPNs and secure connectivity
Experience working within cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Highly Desirable

Experience with Palo Alto Networks
Hands-on experience with Prisma Access
Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks APIs and automation capabilities
Experience with Ansible
Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP
Experience working within large enterprise security environments
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
