Automation qa (.net)

A fast growing Energy & Commodities trading comapny is embarking on a transition from a CTRM-centric technology architecture to a data-centric model, to enhance scalability and stability.

The first phase involves the integration of a new event-based, near real-time Risk system called Topaz.

The primary objectives for include decoupling from the existing CTRM system (Allegro) and establishing a long-term, purpose-built platform to seamlessly, quickly, and cost-effectively integrate multiple systems, services, and business operations in the future.

In this role, the Automation test engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering automated quality assurance to the production software.

Additionally, they will contribute to the quality assurance process throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities of the Automation QA (.

NET): Test Design and Planning: Collaborate on detailed test plans.

Design and implement automated tests for UI and data comparison.

Utilize. NET, C#, and Spec Flow for test automation.

Expand automation framework functionality.

Provide development estimates for automation scripts.

Manage project tasks using Azure Dev Ops.

Document test scope and summaries using Confluence/Zephyr for decision-making meetings.

Test Preparation, Environments, and Execution: Execute automated tests for each release.

Support UAT/SIT and BAU releases with automation testing.

Manage automation defects and follow up with respective teams.

Assist with environment management as needed.

Test Reporting: Maintain automation test reporting frameworks.

Actively contribute to sprint activities and daily meetings.

QA Knowledge Management: Contribute to continuous improvement through knowledge management.

Experience required for the Automation QA (.

NET): Minimum 8 years' experience in automated software testing.

Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, or Business Studies.

Proficiency in C#/.

NET scripting for UI automation.

Experience with.

NET UI automation frameworks and libraries.

Familiarity with Spec Flow or similar BDD frameworks.

Exposure to Test/Keyword/Excel-driven automation frameworks.

Proficiency in Git version control and Azure pipelines.

Familiarity with ETRM applications and pricing/valuation concepts.

Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery models.

Strong SQL querying skills and backend testing experience.

Exposure to Power BI and Jira/Zephyr for defect management.

Person Specification: Highly motivated with a commitment to meeting deadlines.

Willing to go the extra mile to ensure project success.

Previous experience in commodity trading QA or analysis.

Solid understanding of QA processes.

Familiarity with Front Office and Middle Office PNL is a plus.

Adaptability to work across project lifecycles and various tasks.

Proactive with excellent multitasking and organizational skills.

This is a permanent opportunity coming in between £75,000 - £80,0000, and requires someone to be in their Central London office x3 a week.
