Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive to join our client's reputable automotive business in Chelmsford, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive with a background in consumer law, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance to contribute to a dynamic team and progress their career within the motor trade industry.

Competitive basic salary up to £35,000 per annum
OTE of £35,000 with performance-based enhancements
Monday to Friday working hours, 9am to 6pm

Supportive environment with career growth potentialDuties as a Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive will include:

Serve as the primary contact for escalated customer concerns and complex aftersales cases
Manage disputes by investigating documentation, gathering evidence, and liaising with customers and internal teams
Support the resolution of issues before escalation into formal disputes, complaints, or legal claims
Provide paralegal-level support on legal and regulatory matters related to vehicle sales, consumer rights, and compliance obligations
Assist in managing legal claims, preparing documentation, evidence packs, and correspondence
Maintain accurate and confidential records of legal documentation, investigations, and complaint files
Collaborate closely with the Legal Case Handler to ensure appropriate resolution and risk mitigation
Support the business in maintaining FCA compliance and adherence to consumer protection legislation
Provide operational support to senior management, including contract management, compliance processes, and project assistance
Assist in reporting on operational risks, recurring issues, and case management performanceRequirements for the Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive position:

Proven experience within the motor trade or automotive sector is desirable
Experience in handling customer complaints, disputes, or case management
Background in a legal, regulatory, compliance, or paralegal environment
Knowledge of consumer protection legislation and FCA regulations (desirable)
Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple cases effectively in a fast-paced environment
Professional, calm, and confident when dealing with sensitive or complex matters
