Help Shape the Future of Aviation Compliance

At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as an Aviation Auditor at Staverton (Gloucestershire Airport), near Gloucester.

The role

As an Aviation Auditor, you’ll have a role that’s truly out of the ordinary — providing vital oversight across our Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) and Police aviation operations. You will help ensure that Babcock continues to meet all regulatory and internal engineering compliance standards, making a real impact on safety, operational excellence, and aviation assurance. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your auditing expertise within a highly specialised engineering environment, while influencing how we operate today and in the future.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Deliver the annual Engineering Audit Plan, ensuring regulatory standards are consistently met.

  • Carry out compliance audits against aviation safety regulations, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Support the Compliance Monitoring Programme, including the coordination of Engineering Authorisations.

  • Provide SME‑level guidance on Engineering Authorisations, limitations, and regulatory expectations.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, and Compliance teams.

You’ll work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, based primarily at Gloucestershire Airport. Hybrid working patterns are available, with three days per week onsite and occasional travel to other UK sites (approximately once per month). A car allowance is provided.

Essential experience of the Aviation Auditor:

  • Recent experience within a civil aviation environment.

  • Strong knowledge of, or ability to rapidly learn, aviation regulations including Part CAMO & Part 145.

  • Demonstrable or developing auditor skills.

Qualifications for the Aviation Auditor:

Trained Auditor and/or engineering experience within a Part 145 and/or Part CAMO environment.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.

Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
