Aviation Security Screening Operative (Part-Time)

Location: UPS EMA Hub
Hours: 21 hours per week

Working Pattern:

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30pm – 11:30pm
• Friday: 7:30pm – 12:30am

We are seeking a dedicated Aviation Security Screening Operative to join our team. In this vital role, you will help protect our people, customers, aircraft, and facilities by ensuring all cargo and packages meet strict aviation security standards before entering the air network.

Working within a fast-paced operational environment, you'll use specialist screening equipment and security procedures to identify potential risks and maintain compliance with aviation security regulations.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Aviation Security Screening Operative, you will:

• Screen packages using X-ray and other approved security screening methods.
• Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and company procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and maintain accurate records.
• Identify and prevent prohibited items from entering the air cargo network.
• Monitor work areas to ensure security processes are consistently followed.
• Work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant operation.
• Escalate any security, quality, or process concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Adapt to regulatory updates and implement changes when required.
• Contribute to maintaining a secure environment for employees, customers, aircraft, and facilities.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working with X-ray screening equipment or within a similar security-focused environment.
• Ability to successfully pass aviation security vetting, including background and criminal record checks.
• Ability to pass an eye test, including colour vision assessment.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under time-sensitive conditions.
