AWS Solution Architect (Active SC Required)

We are looking for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to lead and support large-scale cloud migration and cloud-native transformation initiatives. This is a customer-facing, hands-on architecture role where you will define, design, and assure AWS solutions across complex, multi-account environments.

You will work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to shape cloud adoption strategies, define migration patterns, and ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and well-architected from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for AWS migration and cloud enablement initiatives
• Elicit and translate business and technical requirements into robust AWS architectures
• Define and document architecture artefacts including baselines, target states, roadmaps, patterns, and reference architectures
• Design reusable migration and deployment patterns using Infrastructure as Code
• Conduct architectural reviews and ensure best use of AWS services and vendor technologies
• Support engineering teams with optimisation, troubleshooting, and incident escalation
• Drive automation, standardisation, and CI/CD adoption across platforms
• Produce clear technical documentation to support reuse and global delivery

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience delivering AWS cloud migrations and cloud-native solutions
• Deep knowledge of AWS architecture within large, multi-account environments
• Considered an AWS subject matter expert, able to solve complex technical challenges
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tooling
• Solid understanding of AWS security and networking services
• Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable (Not Essential)

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional or Security/Networking specialisms)
• Scaled Agile experience (e.g. SAFe, Scrum@Scale)
• Stakeholder management and mentoring junior engineers
