The package
Up to £40,000 salary, negotiable based on experience.
A monetary bonus paid quarterly (approx. 10% of your salary)
Hybrid working - 2 days in the office, 3 from home.

The role
You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining the technology behind websites (database and application).

You'll work together with front-end developers by providing the outward-facing web application elements and server-side logic. In other words, you'll create the logic to make the web app function properly and accomplish this using server-side scripting languages.

You'll play a critical role within the web development teams, handling data storage and ensuring content is delivered to the front end.

What does the day-to-day look like?
Building and maintaining web applications
Building reusable code for future use
Optimising applications for maximum speed and scalability
Building and maintaining unit tests
Troubleshooting and debugging
Testing the applications and websites you build​

To be successful, you will…
Understand server-side patterns and languages like PHP (Laravel)
Understand front-end web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (to communicate with team members on the front end)
Have the ability to manage a hosting environment, including database administration as well as scaling applications to handle load changes.
Adhere to ‘security by design' principles.
Have knowledge of accessibility and security compliance
Have a solid understanding of GDPR and its role in application development and data storage.
Have good problem-solving.
Be experienced with version control, such as Git.
Have excellent verbal communication skills.
Have good interpersonal skills.
Have good documentation.
