Our client is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and distributors of desserts and speciality foods. Operating from their Manchester-based production site, they supply a wide range of fresh and frozen products to customers nationwide.
Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Bakery Line Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy bakery production line. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a team of up to 15 bakery operatives, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be an effective people manager with previous experience in a food manufacturing or bakery production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of up to 15 bakery operatives. Ensure daily production plans and targets are achieved efficiently. Monitor product quality and ensure all products meet company specifications. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping throughout the production area. Organise staffing levels and allocate work to maximise productivity. Support, coach, and develop team members to improve performance. Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Work closely with the Production Manager to resolve production issues and continuously improve processes. Complete production paperwork and ensure accurate record keeping. Requirements
Previous experience as a Line Manager, Team Leader, or Supervisor within a food manufacturing or bakery production environment. Proven experience managing teams of up to 15 bakery operatives. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Flexibility to support the business when operational requirements demand. Working Hours
Monday to Friday 08:30am - 4:30pm Salary & Benefits
£34,500 per annum. Monday to Friday working pattern. Full training and ongoing support. Opportunity to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business. Three-month probation period. Interested?
