Job Description - Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN)
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join a well-established NHS Community Mental Health Team based within the Southend area of Essex, London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RMN seeking a full-time agency position with regular weekday hours, a supportive multidisciplinary team and the potential to secure a long-term contract.
The Role
As a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will manage a varied caseload of adults with complex mental health needs, providing high-quality, recovery-focused care within the community. You will work autonomously whilst collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions that promote independence, wellbeing and positive clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of complex and highly complex patients within the community.
* Complete comprehensive mental health assessments using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
* Develop collaborative, person-centred care plans that balance risk management, recovery, client choice and independence.
* Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with service users, using excellent communication, reasoning and negotiation skills.
* Plan, implement and review interventions, ensuring all areas of clinical risk are appropriately assessed and managed.
* Monitor treatment effectiveness, evaluating and adapting care plans in response to changing clinical needs.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinics and ward rounds, contributing to care planning and clinical decision-making.
* Liaise effectively with families, carers and statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
* Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records in line with Trust policies and professional standards.
* Demonstrate sound clinical judgement in relation to safeguarding and risk management, reporting incidents appropriately.
* Provide professional support and guidance to junior colleagues where appropriate.
* Deliver care that respects the individuality, dignity, cultural background and religious beliefs of every service user.
The role is initially a 3 month contract, but does offer potential extension beyond this period.
The successful candidate will be working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm for 37.5h a week.
Pay rate for this role is between £26-£27 per hour depending on experience and interview.
