Spire Cardiff Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Quality and Governance Administrator to join our Clinical Governance team on a bank basis.


In this role, you'll help ensure audits, policies, incident reporting and compliance activities are coordinated accurately and efficiently, giving clinical teams the support they need to focus on delivering excellent patient care.

About the Role


As a Quality and Governance Administrator, you will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Clinical Governance team, helping to coordinate audits, maintain key documentation, support governance meetings and monitor essential compliance activities.


Working closely with colleagues across the hospital, you'll help keep governance systems, records and processes organised and up to date, ensuring actions are tracked, deadlines are met and information is readily available when needed.


You'll support a variety of quality and governance initiatives, providing valuable assistance to teams across the hospital while helping to maintain the high standards expected within a leading private hospital environment.

Duties and Responsibilities


Reporting to the Clinical Governance Lead, you will assist and support the delivery of governance, quality and consultant compliance activities across the hospital, including:



  • Supporting the hospital audit programme and monitoring compliance with AMaT requirements

  • Monitoring departmental audit completion and following up on monthly and quarterly audit activity

  • Maintaining the hospital's local policy database and ensuring policies remain current and accessible

  • Supporting colleagues with document control processes and version management

  • Assisting the Clinical Governance Lead with monitoring activity within the DATIX incident management system

  • Sending reminders and supporting the timely closure of incidents, investigations and associated actions

  • Supporting the hospital's PSQR preparation and governance activities

  • Providing administrative support for clinical governance meetings and committees

  • Preparing and distributing agendas, minutes and action trackers

  • Maintaining accurate governance records, reports and documentation

  • Supporting quality improvement and compliance initiatives across the hospital

  • Liaising with teams across the hospital to promote effective governance processes and best practice


Contract: Bank


Days/Hours: Flexible working patterns in line with service requirements


Who we're looking for:



  • Previous administration experience within a healthcare setting

  • Strong IT skills with a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to analyse information and support problem-solving activities

  • A confident communicator who can build positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels

  • Compassionate, approachable and professional in their manner

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently within the scope of the role

  • Reliable and able to manage competing priorities effectively

  • Experience of quality, governance or compliance processes would be advantageous

  • Commitment to confidentiality and the accurate handling of sensitive information

  • A positive team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals
