About the Role

We are currently recruiting reliable, practical, and proactive School Caretakers to join our bank team, providing short and long-term cover across primary and secondary schools in Mansfield.

This flexible role is ideal for individuals with maintenance, facilities, or caretaker experience who are looking for work that fits around their availability. As a School Caretaker, you'll play a key role in ensuring school sites remain safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine site inspections to ensure the school remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
Complete basic maintenance, repairs, and general DIY tasks across school buildings and grounds.
Open and lock school premises as required.
Ensure classrooms, halls, and shared areas are clean, tidy, and ready for daily use.
Set up rooms, move furniture, and prepare spaces for school events and activities.
Monitor heating, lighting, alarms, and other site systems where required.
Maintain external areas, including entrances, pathways, playgrounds, and outdoor spaces.
Report maintenance issues, hazards, vandalism, or security concerns promptly.
Work in line with all health and safety procedures, safeguarding requirements, and school policies.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Supervisor, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative, Facilities Assistant, or in a similar role is desirable.
Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
Good awareness of health and safety practices.
Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
