Banking Supervisor

• 9 month FTC

We’re working exclusively with a well-known wholesale business to recruit a Banking Supervisor for a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, supportive finance team in a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in their day-to-day banking and customer service operations.

About the Role:
This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is confident managing high volumes of transactional work. You’ll be responsible for core banking processes like bank reconciliations, journals, and BACS confirmations, while also acting as the go-to support for store teams across the UK.

The role requires answering emails and resolving queries, so strong communication skills and a service-first mindset are key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to stores regarding queries and raising payments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and journaling of items from review. Investigating differences and sharing them with the relevant stakeholders to achieve a resolution
• Ensuring stores are following operational procedures and highlighting where a stakeholder may require training
• Working with profit protection to highlight any potential instances of fraud
• Train and support banking assistant so that they can support you and the stakeholders across the business
• Liaising with third parties such as SecPlus, Barclays and HSBC to query transactions where applicable
• Supporting the audit process for both interim and year-end audits
• Raising of purchase orders for banking related orders

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in a finance support, transactional finance, or banking role
• Comfortable working with reconciliations and basic journals
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A natural problem solver with a helpful, proactive approach
• Confident communicator – someone who is happy to be the link between finance and stores
• No formal accounting qualifications needed

Desirable but Not Essential:

• Experience in retail, wholesale, or a multi-site business
• Familiarity with BACS processes and card payment systems
