Location: Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Job Type: Full-time, Salaried Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per year plus annual bonus

Trading Hours: Sunday 12pm - 8pm, Monday Closed, Tuesday-Wednesday 11am - 8pm, Thursday-Saturday 11am - 11pm

We are excited to announce an incredible opportunity for a Wine Bar Manager to join a new Wine and Small plate venue set to open in the heart of Jesmond’s bustling community shopping area. This unique venue will offer a large selection of wines, small plates, and sharing boards, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead and inspire a team to deliver exceptional table service and manage wine self-service dispense machines.
• Create a warm, welcoming environment focused on outstanding customer experiences and repeat business.
• Collaborate with the owners to develop and maintain the ethos and culture of their business
• Manage daily operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency.
• Oversee budget management, sales driving, stock management, and operational aspects to meet P&L expectations.
• Ensure compliance with EHO, HSE regulations, and manage the site accordingly.
• Train and develop the team, ensuring all staff are knowledgeable, customer-focused, and deliver quality service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong wine knowledge, ideally WSET Level 2 or higher, with the ability to confidently recommend and pair wines.
• At least 10 years of experience in hospitality, with a minimum of 5 years in management roles within wine bars, café bars, or restaurants.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to create a collaborative and vibrant atmosphere.
• Excellent business management skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience in training and team development.
• Personable and approachable demeanour, making customers feel welcome and valued.
