Base Mechanic

Our client, based in Aberdeen, is looking for a Base Mechanic to join their team on a staff contract basis

Key Responsibilities

* Service, maintain and repair all company equipment to the highest standards, including yard equipment and HYDRO-BOOST diesel pumps.

* Assist with repairs to centrifugal pump ends and replace component parts as required.

* Prepare and carry out Third-Party Release Inspections to ensure HYDRO-BOOST diesel pumps can be successfully mobilised offshore.

* Develop a broad and effective knowledge of mechanical shutdown systems, including overspeed, gas shutdown and emergency-stop systems.

* Ensure calibration and safety systems on equipment are kept up to date and records are filed appropriately.

* Assist with procurement activities for the Mechanical Department.

* Assist in maintaining and improving the Mechanical Bay and stores

* Attend other work sites when required.

* Participate in the workshop on-call rota

Essential Skills & Qualifications

* Recognised Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Maintenance qualification.

* Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic.

* Previous experience within an offshore, oil & gas or industrial environment.

* Experience with mechanical maintenance, servicing and repair.

* Knowledge and experience of pressure testing.

* Knowledge of valves and fittings.

* Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
