LOCATION: Bristol


PROPOSED SALARY RANGE:  £30,000 - £37,800 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.


 


This is a full-time role. We can consider hybrid working; however, the successful candidate will be required to work in the office a minimum of three days per week. Depending on the Head of Unit's requirements, there may be occasions when additional office attendance is required.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

 


The primary focus of this role is to provide high-level support as a Diary Assistant to the Head of BBC Studios Natural History Unit and another member/s of the Executive team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department. This includes managing diaries, coordinating complex schedules and meetings with key clients and stakeholders, preparing relevant documents and presentations in advance, setting up all-unit meetings, managing award submissions (eg BAFTA), booking UK and international travel, replying to a busy email inbox and preparing itineraries in a proactive and organised manner. Acting as the main point of contact, you will handle all enquiries with discretion, professionalism, and efficiency. 


The primary focus is on organisational, diary and logistical support. There may be occasions where supporting production teams is an option, but this is a not a key responsibility of the role.


 


 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

 



  • You will be required to provide professional and efficient administrative, secretarial and office management support including helping to prepare presentations, meeting agendas and taking minutes of confidential meetings.

  • You will have the confidence and ability to take responsibility for running and delivering projects or tasks and communicating progress.

  • The ability to prioritise effectively and communicate professionally making sure clients and stakeholders are responded to promptly.

  • The role requires a highly proactive and forward-thinking approach, and great attention to detail, ensuring that all relevant information is kept up-to-date, correct and available.

  • You will coordinate travel itineraries and logistics for UK and international trips

  • You will organise all-unit meetings, ensuring relevant bookings are completed and content collected in advance to ensure successful delivery

  • You will collate information from productions across the department and keep relevant trackers up to date to ensure easy access to information for relevant team members

  • You will help to coordinate and prepare award submissions for content as requested


 


 


 

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:



  • Experience of providing diary management and business support at Senior Management level. Ideally within TV broadcast or similar, desirable but not essential.

  • Strong aptitude for managing multiple diaries, scheduling, and complex logistics.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

  • Self-starter with the initiative, sound judgement, and good interpersonal communication.
