Job Description - BDM - Data Centre

Business Development Manager – Data Centre Energy Solutions
A leading international manufacturer of energy systems is expanding its UK operations and seeking to grow its presence in the data centre market. With a global portfolio of decentralised power and heat solutions — including CHP, backup systems, thermal management, grid services, and industrial heat pumps — the company is at the forefront of sustainable energy innovation. Having delivered over 9,000 projects worldwide, it now aims to bring its cutting-edge technology and expertise to one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors.
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to lead commercial expansion in the UK data centre space. This is a pivotal role with significant autonomy, perfect for a commercially driven individual with a strong technical understanding of energy infrastructure.
Business Development Manager – Data Centre Energy Solutions
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of energy infrastructure projects within the data centre market.
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders across the ecosystem (developers, EPC contractors, hyperscale operators).
  • Build partnerships early in the planning phase to influence energy concept designs.
  • Propose tailored energy solutions that meet needs such as resilient power, decarbonisation, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate technical teams to create high-impact proposals and value-driven energy packages.
  • Monitor and respond to trends in low-carbon technologies, grid independence, and energy policy.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and through networking initiatives.
Business Development Manager – Data Centre Energy Solutions
Requirements:
  • A proven track record in business development within the energy, power systems, HVAC, CHP, or related infrastructure sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK data centre landscape and its energy challenges.
  • A strong network across data centre developers, planners, EPCs, or consultants.
  • Commercial negotiation experience with a strategic mindset and hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage both technical and commercial audiences.
  • A technical background (e.g. mechanical or electrical engineering) is a significant advantage.
Business Development Manager – Data Centre Energy Solutions
Benefits:
  • Strategic role shaping a key growth area for a global energy leader.
  • Competitive salary with performance-related bonus.
  • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, with holiday buy/sell flexibility.
  • Private medical insurance and company pension.
  • Employee benefits portal and access to an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Flat hierarchy with fast decision-making and high autonomy.

If you're looking for a leadership position that blends technical insight with commercial strategy, Please apply today.
