Salary Range: £90–£110 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a nurturing primary school in Eastbourne, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s school journey.

The Role:
You’ll be providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils who need help managing their emotions and behaviour, while promoting positive engagement in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs in KS1 or KS2

• Use de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour reinforcement

• Work closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and external agencies

• Help pupils regulate emotions, stay on task, and build confidence

• Monitor progress and communicate with staff and parents

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience in a school or care setting supporting challenging behaviour

• A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach

• Confidence managing behaviour positively and proactively

• Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (preferred)

• A CV covering the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps

• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
