BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT ASSISTANT – MANCHESTER 🚨

Engage Education are recruiting for a passionate and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, autism and challenging behaviour and is confident helping young people regulate their emotions and engage positively with education.

👥 The Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support children with SEN, SEMH and challenging behaviour
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Follow individual behaviour and support plans
• Encourage positive engagement with learning
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Help maintain a safe, structured and supportive environment

⭐ Essential Requirements

Team Teach training is ESSENTIAL for this role.

We're looking for candidates with:

✅ Previous experience supporting children or young people
✅ Experience working with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour
✅ Valid Team Teach training
✅ A calm, patient and resilient approach
✅ Strong behaviour-management skills
✅ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
✅ A genuine passion for supporting young people

Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Learning Mentor, Support Worker or Youth Worker would be highly desirable.
