Field Service Engineer (Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS)
A forward-thinking leader in renewable energy and power systems, our client specialises in advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the UK. As clean energy demand grows, they are expanding their field service team to support key commissioning, maintenance, and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on BESS units to ensure reliable and safe system performance.
• Perform routine inspections, capacity testing, fault diagnostics, and software/firmware upgrades.
• Troubleshoot equipment and manage repairs efficiently at various client sites.
• Support commissioning activities for both new and operational projects.
• Deliver remote technical support and diagnostics to customers.
• Monitor system performance and analyse operational data for early issue detection.
• Carry out risk assessments and implement safety controls in compliance with HSE regulations.
• Complete service reports, job logs, vehicle checks, and timesheets accurately.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate restocking with the operations team.
• Collaborate with engineering teams by providing practical field feedback to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Qualification in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical or multi-skilled maintenance.
• Basic IT proficiency (Excel, Outlook, CMD, networking fundamentals).
• Certification in safe site working (e.g., CSCS, ECS, or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across UK sites (overnight stays or occasional international travel may be required).
