Best Interest Assessor - Social care

Our client Trafford council is looking for a Best Interest Assessor to join their Social care team.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake timely Best Interests Assessments in line with the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS legislation
Complete high-quality, evidence-based assessments and reports
Manage a varied caseload, ensuring all work is prioritised effectively
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary professionals and care providers
Contribute to maintaining internal assessment capacity, reducing reliance on external providers
Ensure practice is compliant with legal frameworks, local policy, and best practice guidance
Essential Requirements - Qualified Social Worker, Nurse, OT, or Psychologist with BIA qualification
Experience completing DoLS assessments within a local authority setting
Strong working knowledge of: Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
