Job Title Bid Manager Summary We’re looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join a leading engineering organisation in Chorley. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver successful tender strategies, working with a collaborative team over a 4-day working week. Ideal if you excel in managing complex bids and enjoy motivating others to achieve outstanding results. Salary £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end tender process from opportunity identification through to final submission. Develop accurate forecasts of potential tender opportunities in collaboration with Business Development teams. Coordinate and manage internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure technical and commercial compliance. Prepare and review high-quality bid proposals, executive summaries, and response documents. Present bid proposals internally and externally, highlighting compliance, win themes, and value proposition. Maintain and enhance bid processes, tools, and an information library to support future bids. Oversee bid budgets, track financial performance, and align proposals with business objectives. Mentor and manage a dedicated bid team, driving best practice and continuous improvement.Must-have Requirements 3–5 years’ experience in bid, proposals, or tender management roles. Proven ability to lead and deliver multi-disciplinary, high-value tenders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams. Strong attention to detail and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to obtain SC Security Clearance.Nice-to-have Skills APMP Certification (or willingness to work towards it). Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
