Bid Manager - Marine Defence & Underwater technologies

Our client, a prominent player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Bid Manager to join their Marine Technology team. This permanent role involves overseeing bids and proposals, particularly within the marine battlespace and wider defence applications, ensuring high-quality submissions and strategic growth.

This role is a hybrid positions and cna offer several potential office locations across the UK to be based from. Expectation is for 2/3 days a week in the office but this is flexible dependant on the applicant.

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary bid teams to ensure high-quality, winning proposals
• Create and control bid schedules and resource plans
• Establish and control technical and non-technical requirements baselines, ensuring compliance and thorough documentation
• Coordinate and control bid budgets, schedules, and resource allocations
• Identify risks and proactively engage in risk mitigation strategies
• Maintain proactive dialogue with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers
• Coordinate proposal development and ensure alignment with business and customer expectations
• Provide coaching and guidance to more junior bid managers

• Strong experience in leading and managing bids or projects, particularly within the defence or related sectors
• Excellent stakeholder management and commercial awareness
• Proven track record in delivering successful bids and/or projects
• Strong leadership and collaborative team-working abilities
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Understanding and application of bid governance including compliance with relevant processes
• Currently hold, or eligible to attain, Security clearance to SC level.
