Bids & Grants Manager

A leading engineering group developing and manufacturing innovative high technology products has a new vacancy for a Bids & Grants Manager. Joining at a time of new product launch and significant company expansion, you will have responsibility for the development, writing and submission of competitive bid proposals and grant applications. You will work closely with the engineering and commercial teams to understand complex technical propositions and convert them into clear, persuasive and evidence-based bids and proposals.

The Role

Lead the development of bid proposals and grant applications.

Lead internal bid reviews and ensure applications are complete, accurate and compliant before submission.

Research and interpret funding calls, eligibility criteria, assessment criteria and application requirements.

Structure applications around clear technical, commercial and economic cases.

Develop relationships with OEMs, technology companies, universities, research organisations and supply-chain partners.

Support the development of appropriate project structures, work packages and resource requirements.

Monitor UK and international innovation funding programmes to identify relevant opportunities.

Maintain a pipeline of potential funding opportunities and prospective projects.

Work with the leadership team to prioritise opportunities based on strategic and commercial fit.

Develop early-stage project concepts and bid strategies ahead of formal funding calls.

The Person

Proven experience in bid management gained within a manufacturing, engineering or technology-based field.

Excellent project management, leadership, and organizational skills.

An understanding of UK innovation and R&D funding programmes is be beneficial.

Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to identify and present credible supporting evidence.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
