Enhanced Genomics is an innovative and dynamic company with diverse and highly engaged staff. We believe in fostering great teamwork to maximise our collective skills and experience. We are passionate about realising the power of 3D genomics by developing new cutting-edge technologies for therapeutic discoveries.

Summary

As a Bioinformatics Scientist you will partner with Biologists and Engineers to design, execute, and interpret computational analyses that accelerate drug discovery programs. You’ll deliver rigorous, reproducible analyses of NGS and other biological datasets, translate results into biological and project-relevant conclusions, and help teams make better experimental and program decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing, analysing, and interpreting NGS data.

  • Selecting appropriate statistical approaches; articulating assumptions/limitations; interpreting results in biological and experimental context.

  • Contributing code in Python and/or R for statistical analysis and visualisation of complex and large datasets.

  • Working closely with biologists and other bioinformaticians to design, develop and support target identification and target validation plans.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • PhD in computational biology or a related area, or BSc/MSc with equivalent industry experience.

  • Experience supporting discovery-stage research in an academic drug discovery centre or industrial biotech/pharma setting (e.g., target identification/validation, biomarker work, translational genomics, or similar).

  • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing platforms and/or multi-omics datasets.

  • Familiarity with common bioinformatic databases and tools including major public genetic and genomic data repositories.

  • Programming and statistical data analysis and visualisation experience in R or Python, with an understanding of standard supporting tools (NextFlow, Git, etc.).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with and understanding of chromatin conformation assays (Hi-C, capture Hi-C, HiChIP, etc.).

We will only be considering applicants that have the right to work in the UK.
