We’re looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team at a busy marina and boatyard on the River Hamble.
Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of both the marina and boatyard. You’ll help ensure the site operates safely, efficiently and commercially, while delivering an excellent customer experience.
This is a hands-on management role, ideal for someone who enjoys being out on site, leading a team and getting involved in the practical side of marina and boatyard operations.
What You'll Be Doing Supporting, leading and developing the onsite team
Managing contractors and external service providers
Overseeing boatyard scheduling and day-to-day activities
Carrying out regular site inspections and supporting maintenance and improvement works
Assisting with boat movements, towing and driving boats when required
Supporting customer communications and resolving complaints or service issues
Building strong relationships with onsite tenants
Identifying and resolving operational issues quickly and effectively
Deputising for the General Manager during periods of absence
Taking part in the On Call Manager rota
What We're Looking For We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills and a good understanding of marina and boatyard operations. You’ll be confident dealing with a wide range of people, able to make decisions and happy to get stuck in when needed.
You’ll ideally have:
Experience in marina, boatyard or a similar marine operational environment
Strong leadership and team management skills
A genuine focus on delivering excellent customer service
Good communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
The ability to delegate effectively while maintaining oversight
A practical, solutions-focused approach
Resilience and flexibility, with a genuine can-do attitude
