Job Description - Bookkeeper

A small, well-established construction business based in Little Chalfont is seeking an experienced and organised Bookkeeper to join its close-knit team. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of the day-to-day finance function in a supportive and stable working environment.
Due to the rural office location, access to your own transport is essential.

Main Responsibilities

Processing purchase ledger invoices
Managing and resolving any supplier invoice queries
Sending regular reports to site teams and across departments
Accurately coding and costing invoices to the correct nominal accounts
Reconciling supplier statements
Preparing and coordinating weekly/monthly payment runs
Assisting with posting payroll journals
Consolidating cash book entries
Preparing for and assisting with financial audits
Managing employee expenses
Reconciling bank and credit card statements

What We're Looking For

Strong bookkeeping experience, ideally in a small business or construction environment
Solid understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, and payment processes
Familiarity with Red Sky accounting software is highly desirable (training can be provided if needed)
High attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
