Salary: £29,000 - £30,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Contract Type: Permanent

Overview:

A well-established and client-focused accountancy firm based in Hertfordshire is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to join its friendly and supportive team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with prior experience in a practice environment who thrives in a collaborative, people-centric workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter purchase invoices via Dext and post to client accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage)
• Enter sales invoices when not completed by the client
• Perform bank reconciliations using bank feeds
• Post payroll journals accurately
• Ensure correct VAT classifications and postings
• Reconcile trade creditors, trade debtors, and VAT against the trial balance
• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns for clients

Requirements:

• Proficient in Xero, Sage, Excel, and Dext
• Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice is essential
• Must have the full right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
